  • Sony Canada Warranty useless on Z3 compact

I paid $600 cash directly to Sony Canada to buy this phone. Hadn't any problems or suffered horror stories others have posted on the web, but there is a little rubber flap seal covering the SIM card slot that would not close. It would not close from day one. Since Sony markets this phone capable of operating underwater it is pretty clear the flap must close. If one does a search on this phone and SIM card flap seal or on the Sony support forum, you will find others with the same problem. The flap is basically hard rubber with a notched rubber tongue that clics into a slot. It's... More...

  • Sony kdf-4250a10

Well, here goes. I've been a loyal Sony customer for many many years. The first two TV's I inherited when my uncle and grandmother passed away in 2000. One was a 32, the other was a 36. They both worked great for years and finally the shells (the plastic outer part of the tv) dis-intigrated into a crumbled mass of glass and plastic when we tried to move them. I thought, well, they were old at that point. (they probably would continue to run if the outer casing didnt crumble). Then when I got married in 2003 my wife and I bought a new 60'' projection tv and a str-de485... More...

I tried to get this unit repaired by authorized service center and it's still not working. I was told to ship to Laredo Texas, it was to go out not ground, but it did now its going to take for ever for this unit to get fixed or replaced. This unit has never worked properly and I have gotten poor support from you. Work order #301680577 E59628526 All this agravation you have given me is going to show up on a local Television Broadcast. The more the bad publicity you get the better, no one in your company seems to care about the customer period! More...

  • Sony Bravia KDL46BX420 LCD TV Broken After Two Years

This complaint is coming from a 20+ year Sony enthusiast and promoter. My entire home A/V system is made up of Sony electronics and I've owned numerous Sony televisions, stereos, speakers, and other devices over the years. I purchased the Sony Bravia KDL46BX420 LCD TV online on 11/16/2011. The first time I turned the television set on, I noticed a vertical band of green pixels on the right side of the display. I immediately called Sony Customer Service and was told that I'd have to ship the unit back for repair or replacement. The expected turn-around time was over two... More...

  • Defective Electronics

My experience with SONY customer service emanating from SW Florida is the worst for any company with whom I have interacted in many years (not an overstatement). CEO Mr. Hirai promises that SONY "will change" and the company motto is "make.believe", both interesting wording. After watching four SONY televisions bought within the last two years, and 2 of 4 having defective circuits identified by the installers (one of which is noted on an internal service bulletin and therefore known by the company), my small sampling would suggest overall 50% quality for these SONY... • Sony television

The Sony tv may be fine, but their customer service is the worst. I purchased a TV at the end of November. It took 2 phone calls and about a month to receive it. I received it and it was defective. Called to get a new one - all they can send is a refurbished model and will not offer any compensation for it being refurbished. It is now the end of January and I have been waiting to receive the refurbished unit for over a month. Each call I make to Sony lasts about an hour and they just keep passing you from person to person! Don't buy directly from Sony - it is a headache. More...

  • Sony Grand Wega Defective review

My TV was Sony kd-f50we610 a Sony Grand Wega, It was a wonderful TV until the Optic Block went out in it. How do I know that was the problem, well after several internet searches I came across a Facebook page called "I Have a Defective Sony TV" after my Lamp went out in the TV. Like anyone would I got a new lamp for the seven year old TV. Well when I put it in, I did notice some melting around the area where it went in and on the lamp door. Actually a small piece of plastic came off when I took the lamp door off (very small) . The new lamp went in and the TV came up fine.. I... More...

  • Broken Blu-ray

So on 2/27/11 I purchased a Blu-ray player from a Sony outlet store, got it home and when it was plugged in it was dead. It wouldn't turn on at all. I called the customer service number and went through all those hoops and finally got to the replacement part. Logically since the unit was less than 24 hours old it was covered under warranty. The catch was they wanted a credit card to charge me for all the shipping and handling charges to them and back. I couldn't believe that with a clearly defective product I was going to get dinged again for more charges to fix their... More...

  • Sony delayed release of patch for game

The game "two worlds 2 " has been released in Europe for the playstation 3 since November 2010. The game crashes and its completely unplayable. I contacted the publisher called zussex entertainment and they have confirmed that they have released a patch to fix the problem and gave it to sony for approval and release to the public through the playstation network. However since now the patch is not released. How long does this approval process takes? Many european consumers are furious at this time. Release the patch ASAP! More...
  • Sony customer service

I purchased a Sony 52Z5100 on 11/22/09 for $1600 to be given to my family as a Christmas present. I did not buy the extended warranty. The present was given 12/25/09. On 12/23/10 the picture started acting up. I called Sony. They said it was out of warranty. Warranty is from date of purchase. They did offer to pay for an authorized tech to evaluate TV. He said is was a LCD computer panel. The cost of repair would be $3449.71 for the $1600.00 TV. I called Sony again. They offered me a 60" that sells for $2200 for $1700 and a 46" that sells for $999 for $700. I told them... More...

  • Terrible Terrible Sony customer service

I purchased a 52 inch LCD TV in January 2010. In N0vember, it started having intermittent picture issues. I called Sony in early December, and was advised to contact an authorized Sony repair company. I did this. The company (Mera's in Rockford Il) promptly picked up the TV to evaluate the problem (on December 11, 2010). On December 13, Mera's called to report the problem and that the part had been ordered from Sony to repair the problem. 3 weeks later, Mera's has not received the part and neither they or I can get any information from Sony. I called the customer... More...

  • Sony Warranty Worthless

n December of 2009 I purchased a Sony Vaio Laptop for my daughter to use in college. Cost of laptop was $697.11, wasn't a cheap one. On September 23, 2010 (9 months later) the hard drive crashed. The computer has a 12 months parts and labor warranty. The problem with the hard drive was determined by a reputable computer company in Starkville, Ms where my daughter attends the university. I contacted Sony on that date and advised them of the problem. I was told that they would ship out a replacement hard drive within 2 to 3 days and I should receive it within 10 to 14 days. I asked if I... More...

  • Laredo, TX... TERRIBLE SUPPORT!!!!

Throughout the years I have had several Sony products that I have been very satisfied with, including TV's, DVD players, music players, etc. and had no major problems with any of these products. However, we received a brand new, in a sealed box Sony Blu Ray player BDPN460 as an anniversary gift from my mother in law back in April, 2010. It was great! The picture quality was awesome, it was very user friendly, totally HD and stunning quality. That is, until it stopped powering up at all after about 3 1/2 months of normal usage. No prob... I called up the Sony support people and they... More...

  • SONY going down the drain

I have been previously an avid purchaser of Sony products personally and for my business, cameras, computers, TVs, ebooks, etc. A Sony sales representatives recently took my computer order and confirmed my order but do not advise me that the operating system ordered was not available on this computer nor did they provide other options. Sony just provided another product without communicating to me. When I attempted to correct the matter withhout returning the computer. Sony representatives said I could repurchase the product elsewhere. They also advised me that they do not care about... More...

  • Sony Cybershot

On August 15, 2009 I purchased a Sony Cybershot DSC-HX1 9.1MP Digital Camera with 20x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot Image Stabilization and 3.0 Inch LCD for $499.00 at the Sony Store at Plaza las America in San Juan, Puerto Rico while on vacation. The camera was on display and had a couple minor scratches on the lens. As an incentive to purchase the camera I was given a 16 Gig memory card and an extra battery at no charge. On several occasions the camera failed to function properly since the display key sometimes flickers on and off. My local Sony Store refused to exchange it.... More...

  • Horrendous Customer Service

After 3 weeks of nothing, Sony didn't refund me for an HD movie that was not in widescreen 1080p. I rented through the PSN on the PS3 and it was 4:3. I didn't finish downloading it mind you so I thought it would be even easier to get a refund. Ha, boy was I wrong. It would've been easier to run a marathon than to hope sony would help out a dedicated customer. To make me happy is simple, refund my $5 for my movie rental on the PSN network. (you would think it would be rather easy huh....??) More...

  • Bad Customer Service

Phone call number one: I cannot believe the type of customer service I received when I contacted Sony customer support today. It was by far some of the worst, most demeaning, unprofessional customer service I have ever received. Phone call number two:I tried calling the customer relations phone number on your website to complain about my initial customer service phone call. , and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was asked my name, phone number, model number of my TV, etc. I told the guy I just wanted to talk to a supervisor. He asked me why, and I told him I have a reason that I... More...

  • brutally rude rep

I had just bought a PSP and had problems getting an internet connection through my wireless router which is an advertised feature of the system. I called Sony for help but there was no prompt to speak to a human but I happened to know 0 works most of the time. I would have been better not talking to anyone because after only 2 minutes the rep had become very impatient and rude with me. She claimed that I was not following her instructions when in fact she was not giving me correct instructions and had to pause and read something before giving further direction. Now the PSP is not that... More...

  • Sony extented warranty stinks

I purchased a Sony TV and about six months after we had it the picture started going bad. In April, 2007 it got so bad we could hardly see the picture. I called Sony extended warranty service, good until 2010,it was picked up. They had it for over two weeks before they brought it back. About ten months later the same thing happened and again I called Sony .It was picked up again. This time they had it for over 6 weeks before they brought it back. After a short time it went bad for the same thing again, but only this time Sony refused to fix it saying that it exceeded my warranty coverage... More...

  • I ordered a camera lens from...

I ordered a camera lens from Sony and changed my mind. I called them the very next day to cancel my order. I was informed that orders could not be cancelled. In order to return the product I would have to wait for it to be delivered, call them for some type of return confirmation and then it would take approximately 2 to 3 months for my credit card to be credited. This is insane. I felt that by buying from Sony directly I would have better customer service. What a rude awakening I have had. I will Never order from them again! More...

I brought a Sony VGN 320 in April 2007 and it has developed a spider crack on the LCD screen. The Sony reps want 700 to fix a 840 dollar machine! The computer was used for light casual work and ALWAYS treated well. The rep said something may have been placed on top of the case there by causing the damage. The computer is only used by a middle aged male and when it is not in use is ALWAYS placed in a padded computer bag. The Sony reps said its accidental damage so not covered on the one warranty. First and last SONY they dont stick behind their product line. I would suggest looking at other... More...
